Basics of Cinema 4D
I have curated this course to show you the step-by-step process of creating an abstract low poly tree by modeling it in cinema 4D. You will learn how to create basic shapes, render your model so that you can save it as an image, or import it into Adobe Photoshop, where you can add some final touches to make your illustration stand out. At the end of the course, you would have learned how to create an abstract low poly tree that you can use in your projects.
01:09
Tree Sketches
To start things off, we are going to go into Photoshop for some quick sketching and basic silhouettes for the tree. In this video, you will learn how to choose the size for your canvas, create layers, choose brushes, sketch the tree trunk, and add leaves. Make sure the brush you select is not too small.
02:54
Overview of the Platform
In this video, we will do a quick overview of cinema 4D and some of the many features we will be using in the class. You will learn how to create a cube, how to use the move tool, how to choose and manipulate shapes, how to zoom in and out, how to rotate around, how to see different views of the plane, and much more.
02:10
Tree Trunk
In this video, you will learn how to create a tree trunk in Cinema 4D. You will learn how to create the base of our tree trunk, use the scale tool, and manipulate basic shapes and polygons to create the tree trunk using Cinema 4D.
04:41
Tree Branches
In this video, you will learn how to extrude the tree trunk by creating tree branches while constantly switching between the rotation tool, move tool, and scale tool. You will learn how to manipulate basic shapes and polygons to create the tree branches using Cinema 4D.
09:51
Tree Leaves
In this video, we will look at filling up those tree branches with some low poly leaves, constantly switching between the rotation tool, move tool, and scale tool. I'll explain how to manipulate basic shapes, polygons, and different settings to create the tree leaves using Cinema 4D.
07:10
Adding Color
In this video, we will go through how to add colors to our low poly tree. I'll explain how to create different colored materials using Cinema 4D. Once you are happy with your color selection, you can now go-ahead to render your low poly tree.
04:08
Rendering
In this video, I'll explain how to render your low poly tree and what settings to use in Cinema 4D so that you can take it into Photoshop. You will go to render settings and select the pixel output and where you would like to save it.
01:30
Adobe Photoshop
In this video, I'll explain how to import your render from Cinema 4D into Adobe Photoshop and some basic tips and tricks to improve your image. You will learn how to add some final touches to the image, like choosing a color for the sky, adding the tree shadow, and more.
09:06
Conclusion
In this video, I'll go through what we've learned in the course, and my final thoughts on the process of creating a low poly tree in Cinema 4D. My last piece of advice is to always look for constructive feedback during and after you have completed your finished piece. Thanks for taking this course.
