Flat Design: Creating Simple Characters
Welcome to how to create simple flat characters in Adobe Illustrator! I have curated this course to take you through all the tools and skills you need to learn how to make flat characters. At the end of the training, you would have learned how to create three different flat characters of different body types that you can use in your projects and designs.

Creating the Head
Before creating the character, you want to keep in mind the type of character you would like to make. In this unit, you will learn how to create shapes and choose the suitable color for the character you’d like to create. We will create the head with eyes, eyebrows and hear of the character using simple vector shapes.

Hair and Mouth
We will continue by creating the hair and mouth of the character. You will learn how to add facial details to the head of the character.

Medium Body
In this unit, we create the base character template for a medium-sized vector character which will include the torso, arms, and legs.

Slim Body
In this unit, you will learn how to create the base character template for a slim / thin-sized vector character which will include the torso, arms, legs, and belly button, otherwise known as the navel.

For this final body type of our character, it will be the biggest, so we need to reflect that in the size of his head. You will learn how to create the base character template for a big-sized vector character.
