There are honestly no words that can adequately describe how much Alicia has opened my eyes to my graduate-level stats class. Unfortunately, my current stats professor is a wonderful man yet, he teaches 1+1=2 yet asks 2x2/9 questions. I was contacted by Alicia immediately, and within MINUTES, she replied to my email. After a brief explanation of the criteria I was working on, Alicia jumped right into showing me how to work SPSS. She uploaded the information on her computer and walked me through all of the problems and questions I had. One of the most beneficial aspects Alicia carries is she can grasp whether or not I understood what she was saying and further elaborate if needed. I cannot stress how easy it is to reach her! Within just a few minutes, she responds to my emails (EVEN WHEN I KNOW SHE IS A VERY BUSY WOMAN OUTSIDE OF TEACHING). I could not have asked for a better teacher! I look forward to my grade improving. Above anything, Alicia actually makes stats fun and interesting!
I am taking a data modeling statistics course online and was doing well following the material in the first few weeks. However, I quickly became lost & overwhelmed right before the midterm. Jonathan was able to meet with me on short notice for A total of 4 hours over weekend. I was ready to jump right into some problems but he focused first on some foundational items which was really useful in increasing my understand of the subject matter. Jonathan patiently & clearly explained the materials and I felt more confident by the time we arrived at the problems that I was struggling with. I did well on the midterm and could not have done it without these sessions - highly recommend Jonathan.
My grandson has been making tremendous strides in 6th grade math since Chia has been working with him. This is the right match! We have had numerous tutors before, but Chia has been able to assist my grandson in understanding math, reasoning it out. He has also working on test preparation and understanding how to extract required information from word problems that is required to solve a math problem. My grandson is more confident in facing math problems. We have switched from home visits to online lessons due to the coronavirus and I see as much learning going on as I did on actual visits. As math is a weak area, I plan on continuing Chia's tutoring next school year.
Henry is a great tutor! I am a 26 year old college student taking developmental math. I am terrible with algebra (and all other math) and he makes things easy to understand. I highly recommend him. He takes his time to go over any material you are having a hard time understanding. No matter how many times he has to go over a problem with me he is patient and makes me feel like he really cares about me learning. He has even made me notes to look over and practice sheets so I learn the material better. Im finally starting to understand math and I owe it to him. John was an amazing tutor, always had everything ready and step by step notes of my homework that he later emailed to me so I could look over them if I needed too. College Algebra online was rough for me but he made it so much more understandable. So much that I got an A in the class and the final was a "if you fail the final you fail the class" kind of final. So thankful for him and all of his hard work! We live in different states so it was over the computer. I tried a few in person tutors around me, but no one helped the way John did. I was quite amazed with how well he was for the sessions being online. Thank you so much John!
Lior is a very pleasant instructor. After speaking with my, he son felt as though Lior method of breaking down the basics of Geometry was very helpful, and he liked that Lior focused on the main things that my son did not understand within the lesson plan. Although Lior has a very strong accent my son like his teaching method, and feel as though with time the accent barrier will become less challenging, as they take their time going over the information. My son does feel like at this present time within the first lesson, he will be able to accomplish what he need to succeed in Geometry this school year with Lior help.
Rustam is a wonderful fit for my 5th and 6th grade students! He began tutoring them in math a few months ago. Their attitudes towards math were extremely negative, their frustration levels high and their grades were B- and C+. After a few short months, they are both A students in Math (with one A+!), their questions are consistently and patiently answered and most importantly their attitudes and resiliency towards math are finally at a very positive level thanks solely to Rustam! Having Rustam as a math tutor has improved attitudes towards school in our family all around!
Mr. Saladino was exactly what my son needed to improve his Math comprehension and grades. My son always looks forward to meeting with him and now feels much more comfortable with his Math class. Mr. Saladino's explanations are very clear and he has gone out of his way to help my son, even with last minute notice when he needed extra help to prepare for a test. My son's Math grade has already improved significantly since he started the sessions with Mr. Saladino about two months ago. I would highly recommend Mr. Saladino to any student needing extra help with Math.
There is an inexpressible joy in finding someone like Wendy who is able to take my child, who lacked any confidence in his ability to “catch up” and get through his most challenging subject after completely giving up on himself. My son and I will forever be indebted to you. Thank you for your tenacity and patience. He might just follow his dream to be a rocket scientist after all because you found a way to connect with him and coax him, ever so gently, back to a place of learning and progress.
Charity has been a blessing for our son who needed torturing in Algebra. He finds her methods understandable and she has the patience and demeanor that our son responds to best. We look forward to working with her for as long as our son needs. From the parent aspect, she keeps us up to date with what they are working on and when his next tutoring session is. This is greatly appreciated since our teenage son is not the best at communication, as is typical with some teenagers :)
Scott was a wonderful tutor! We were having connection issues and technical difficulties in the beginning , but he did not give up and figured it out so we were able to still have a productive lesson! He was very though and patient with me. He really took the time to explain and make sure I understood the concept before moving on. He taught me great mnemonics to help me remember the material, none of which my math professor ever mentioned. I will definitely tutor with him again!
This is my first ever tutor. She is wonderful and always willing to help and explain everything. I tend to ask why it is so with math, and she always has a reason. I love that. No one has been able to explain why like she has. She is always prompt and often gives advice on arithmetic processes. It has been a pleasure working with her. I recommend her services. Getting tutored by her has alleviated my fear of asking any questions, ever.
I have been a student of Tim's for close to 6 months and I can safely say he is an amazing tutor. Not only will he spend extra time out of sessions to complete work we couldn't finish in class, but he will also take the time to send you a written write up of the problems you couldn't get too. He has helped me tremendously this past year in Differential Equations and I would recommend him to anyone who needs help in a math based subject.
Aleah has been an absolute delight. She delivers clear, easy-to-understand instruction for both my 8th grader and 11th grader. We are very grateful for her help. My 8th grader had a high level of stress due to her struggles with Math. Aleah has been wonderfully calm, patient and kind in her approach. The impact of 2x a week all summer and 1x a week during the school year has delivered incredible results. 5 stars across the board!!!!
Chia is assisting my grandson in understanding 6th grade geometry. Chia is spending the time to teach him how to ask questions about a math problem (both numerical and word) in order to decipher exactly what information is being requested and what method he should utilize in order to solve the problem and present the correct answer. Robbie is gaining confidence in his ability to solve math problems instead of being afraid of math.
My grandson has struggled with math his entire life. We have utilized many programs and many tutors. He was very apprehensive about working with Chia, but after his first sessions, Robbie had improved his self confidence and his ability to work with beginning geometry. After one session Robbie is talking about how he can raise his grade. We are very happy with the professionalism and personal interest Chia has shown Robbie.
Eugene did a wonderful job tutoring my 10th grader in integrated math II. My son felt comfortable and relayed that Eugene knew the information and was able to highlight important concepts in a way that was understandable. Eugene left additional problems and has said he would provide feedback. I highly recommend Eugene; he is very smart, personal, and a wonderful teacher. We look forward to seeing him on a regular basis.
Let me just start off by saying Jesse is a great tutor! I found heytutor when I was REALLY struggling in my stats class and he has made me feel so much more confident with my skills. I am a mother and very busy all the time and he is very flexible, patient and understanding around that. He is very passionate about stats and he really wants his students to understand and feel confident. I one hundred percent recommend him!
Tim successfully tutored our son, Will, in both high school and college. We are so thrilled that he has the bandwidth to go from high school calculus to linear algebra and beyond! Working with Yyun has been a pleasure. On the first lesson, he jumped right in on the subject matter with my son (Algebra I Honors). I was worried because my son's lessons had outpaced my skill set and I'm very good at math. Yyun knew his stuff. He is great at explaining things to my son and gives him lots of tips and tricks to help him in doing better on the tests. I'm very, very happy we have him as a tutor.
