I'm a 21-year-old Korean-American student currently studying Early Childhood Development at Santa Monica College. I've worked with elementary and middle school students for the past five years with my mother who ran an afterschool tutoring service in Koreatown, Los Angeles. I taught classes of 5-15 students and assisted them in completing homework and understanding concepts. I am constantly looking for fun new ideas to add to my curriculum to keep students from getting the idea that studying is boring. I believe every student has potential and that school grades do NOT reflect a student's intelligence. I also believe that every student is different in the way they learn and that one style of teaching will NOT work for everyone. I prefer to be seen almost as an older brother figure by my students, making a fun and relaxed environment for them.
