I provide affordable tutoring sessions to children and adults who are experiencing difficulties with reading, writing and spelling the English language. I am a certified English teacher and have over 15 years of full time classroom teaching experience and I am a specially trained reading tutor for overcoming reading difficulties. I have been providing 1 to 1 reading intervention sessions for the past five years and have had great success with my students.
My reading tutoring sessions follow the Orton Gillingham Method. This is the gold standard method of teaching children who face difficulties with reading. It is a research and phonics based approach that is the basis of any noteworthy reading remediation program.
I diagnose the deficiencies in the reading process and I prescribe activities to overcome these deficiencies. I work on the five components of reading: phonemic awareness. decoding, reading fluency, and reading comprehension strategies.
Additionally, I provide math tutoring sessions for children struggling with math concepts for grades 1-8. I also have test prep programs for TACHS/COOP/HSPT/ISEE/SSAT/SHSAT.
