Hello my name is Aisha and I have been a teacher for the past five years. I have worked individually with students as a tutor in English, Math, Biology and Earth Science for a variety of ages. I have also individually prepped students for ELA state exams. I recently received my Master's in Literacy Education and I have a Bachelor's in English Adolescent Education. Under my guidance, students achieved passing rates between 85-90 percent on New York State English Regents exam. Throughout my career, Common Core Standards were used as the basis for developing a rigorous curriculum that was student friendly. This experience instilled the importance of individualized, scaffolded and differentiated teaching and the effect that personalized learning can have on students. One of the things I enjoy most about tutoring is the ability to give a student that one-to-one remediation that can sometimes be missing from a classroom setting.
