About Tynetta

I have a master's degree from the University of Florida in English Education. With my education from the University of Florida, I am also ESOL endorsed for students K-12 and I also obtained a teaching certificate to conduct classroom lessons in the subject area of English for grades 6-12.
I taught within the classroom for over five years with over fifty percent of my students enrolled within the ESOL program.

I specialize with teaching the different areas of English (Grammar, Language, Literature, and Writing) with the application of real world concepts to keep students engaged. In other words, I like to apply the subject area of English to more than just the literature books such as: reading phone company contracts, breaking down the language and sentence structures of terms and conditions for social media accounts, writing college admission essays, and understanding the language of promissory notes for students that take out loans to go to college. Nevertheless, my education and on-the-job training has taught me the ability to work with the very basics of the English subject like labeling the different parts of speech within sentences, reading comprehension recall, and reading comprehension application (writing a book report on a novel read during class).

My mission in tutoring students is to be an extension of support from what is taught directly from the classroom teacher. Unlike some atmospheres of the classroom, my tutoring sessions are all no pressure and hands on. I will start from where you are, look at where your teachers and parents feel you need to be, and develop a plan to get you there. Whether you are reading and responding to "Clifford the Big Red Dog" to "Beowulf" and all types of literature in between, I am one of the best that can help you get through it.
