I've obtained my Bachelors of Science in Biology, with a minor in Psychology from San Diego State University. As an undergraduate student, I volunteered as a mentor for elementary school students. My role involved nurturing students to understand positive and negative relationships, open up to others, ask for help when needed, and grow developmentally through the mentoring program Shortly after graduation, I began teaching in a classroom setting where I lead hands-on learning experiences within students ages 7-13 to improve academic achievements in STEM subjects. Additionally, I am a Behavioral Therapist, working with kids who are on the spectrum, providing direct 1:1 Applied Behavioral Analysis services in-home setting to clients ages 2-18.
Working with kids is incredibly rewarding. As a tutor, I love helping students achieve their potential, adapting to kids’ individual needs, building lasting relationships based on shared goals. It's important for me to take the time to find the student's strengths and create personalized academic goals to work on areas of improvement.
