I have been tutoring in various capacities since I was fourteen years old. Back then, my focus was on conversational English for non-native speakers. Throughout the years - both during and after college - I have conducted one-on-one sessions and small group sessions at student's homes as well as in classroom settings.
While I am capable of teaching foreign languages including French, Spanish, and Hindi, my primary focus recently has been specifically on mathematics from elementary to high school, including Geometry, Algebra, and Trigonometry. My students have come from public, private, and religious schools and possess a wide range of skill levels.
I understand the logic inherent in math and am able to explain concepts in a way that each topic builds on the previous one. This is a field in which cumulative knowledge is crucial, so for a student struggling to understand the reasoning behind how to solve a problem, I am able to walk them through my own approach in a way that helps them internalize the right processes.
If you are looking for help to prepare for a standardized admission test such as the ISEE, the SAT, the ACT, or certain subject tests, I can create a custom lesson plan that fits with the student's goals and timeline.
Feel free to reach out with any questions. I hope we can work together to help you reach your goals in the near future!
