I am an international educator with 10+ years of teaching, administrative, college counseling, and consulting experience. I really love working with young people and believe in the power of education to enlighten minds and open hearts.
Currently a doctoral candidate at Teachers College, Columbia University, I have a Bachelor degree from Brown University and a Master degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education. I have taught middle and high school English literature, Economics, integrated Social Studies, and English-as-Second-Language courses at four different international/bilingual schools in China. I have also worked as an Upper School U.S. History (standard and honors levels), Modern European History, and World History instructor at a top independent school on the Main Line in Philadelphia.
Having worked as both a private and school-based college counselor and with my own extensive experience with undergraduate, masters, and doctoral applications, I am well-equipped to help students with college essays and general application advising. In addition, I am a native-level bilingual in English and Mandarin and would be able to assist students who require tutoring with the additional support of Chinese language.
As a full-time doctoral candidate, I miss the energy, excitement, and joy of learning with students in the classroom. I welcome the opportunity to work with you and to help make a difference in your educational endeavors. I look forward to hearing from you!
