I grew up in Mount Snow, Vermont and attended the University of Rhode Island for my undergraduate studies. Upon graduation, I moved to Boston and began my teaching career in 2010 as a elementary paraprofessional. In 2013, I obtained my master's degree from Lesley University in special education as well as my Massachusetts initial teaching license. Since 2013, I have worked as an elementary special education teacher and have five years of paid tutoring experience.
Last July, I moved to New York and accepted a head teaching position at a private school in Manhattan. Additionally, I obtained my New York initial teaching license. I am available to tutor after school during the school year. I can provide tutoring services in elementary level math, reading, writing, spelling, vocabulary and grammar skills, as well as assistance with class assignments and projects in all academic subjects. I also teach executive functioning and study skills.
I am extremely passionate about what I do, and I employ a multi-sensory approach to teaching to help my students gain skills and perform at their optimal level. I can provide my resume and references upon request! I look forward to hearing from you!
