I am a former high school Math teacher and instructional coach. I spent 5 years teaching both Algebra I and Algebra II as well as exit level Math test prep. I hold both a bachelor degree (BBA) in Marketing from Baylor University (Waco, TX) as well as a Master Of Arts in Teaching (MAT) from Texas Woman's University (Denton, TX) . I spent the next 5 years as an instructional coach where I directly supported schools in their quest to improve their level of Mathematics instruction. I worked with both teachers as well as campus-based instructional coaches. I pride myself on being a life long learner who understands the importance of both the teaching and the learning. It takes skill and attention to detail to live and succeed in that intersection. My specialty is Algebra I and II as well as any other Algebra Readiness courses. I was responsible for Mathematics instructions from grades K - 12 so I have a broad understanding of where the Math begins and where it is headed. I love to incorporate a variety of instructional strategies from a concrete-symbolic-abstract approach. I frequently employ the use of manipulatives (if available) for hands-on learning). I am very comfortable with TI Nspire graphing technology (Algebra I & II) and am technologically saavy. I can prepare notes, create activities and games all in the name of making learning fun and productive. I love the use of questioning because it's important to engage the mind and really create a learning experience so that there is a greater chance of retention. I look forward to coaching you along your journey towards improvement. It may be challenging but it will be worth it and time will fly! Thanks for your time. Be well!
