I started tutoring during high school and I've been doing it in my spare time ever since! I've helped students prepare for the Reading & Writing sections of the PSAT, SAT, and ACT, taught introductory music theory to students I was mentoring, edited college essays, and tutored plenty of high school Latin. (It's an eclectic range!) For almost a decade, I've been "the editor" and/or "the proofreader" within my extended social circles -- friends and acquaintances bring me their papers, leave satisfied with the results, and recommend me to their friends. Additionally, I have a B.A. in History from the University of Chicago and recently spent a highly enjoyable few weeks helping a younger cousin prep for the AP U.S. History test.
I'm great at working with students who have ADHD (I've been there myself!), and I pride myself on being able to come up with new learning strategies to fit a student's individual needs. I'm flexible, patient, and analytical. Last but not least, I have an excellent sense of humor -- I take learning very seriously (it's what I love most), but not TOO seriously.
