For four years, I worked as a private tutor and aided students of all ages and ability levels in multiple subjects (including students with special needs and learning disabilities). I was also an ESOL teacher with a program designed to teach English to non-native speakers. I have undergraduate degrees in Anthropology/Archaeology and Psychology from the University of North Carolina and a Master's degree in History from Columbia University.
I am comfortable tutoring a wide range of subjects:
Elementary and Middle School Education: I am well-versed in math, science, reading, writing, and social studies for K-9 (math through Algebra 1). I am also great with coming up with study plans, teaching organizational skills, and developing learning strategies in order to help students succeed.
Languages: Spanish, German, Latin, and English as a second language. I have taken 4+ years of both Latin and German, and 5+ years of Spanish.
Psychology: AP Psych or college-level courses. Additionally, I have 3+ years experience working in a psychology lab, which included running studies and writing academic papers.
History: I specialize in European history, but am also available to tutor world history, social studies, general geography for all levels (K-12 and college courses).
Anthropology: I am comfortable tutoring all levels of anthropology, from high-school level human geography to college level courses. I have anthropology lab experience as well as archaeology field and lab experience.
I have a very flexible schedule and am willing to travel within Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. I am also available for online tutoring and would be able to accommodate most time-zones. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions regarding qualifications or if you would like to schedule a lesson!
