I've been a teacher all my life. With a BA from Harvard and an MA from Columbia, I taught History for fourteen years at The Horace Mann School in New York City and I tutor students in grades 5-12 in study skills and advanced reading, writing, and analysis.
Through a carefully individualized process, I help students build mastery, confidence and joy in their work. In your studying, I'll help you organize and prioritize, break large tasks into small ones, and learn strategies for research, understanding concepts, and applying analytical frameworks. In your writing, I'll help you overcome blocks, organize your ideas, and write clear, expressive prose.
I most often work with students at NYC independent schools, including Dalton, Brearley, Collegiate, Columbia Prep, Trinity, Ramaz, Heschel, Horace Mann, Fieldston, and Riverdale, and I tutor students worldwide via Skype.
