I recently earned my master's degree in Chinese philosophy from Fudan University in Shanghai, China.
My teaching experience up to this point consists solely of one-on-one or small group teaching. I spent my last two years in the United States Air Force serving as an instructor and evaluator. This entailed individually training and testing students according to demanding performance standards in a dynamic learning and working environment on and off of U.S. reconnaissance aircraft. For two and a half years during my undergraduate studies, I was an explainer at the Lake Afton Public Observatory in Goddard, Kansas. This position entailed giving public presentations about astronomical objects to patrons of all ages. Finally, I have spent two summers as the Director of Scoutcraft at Camp Pupukea Boy Scout Camp in Haleiwa, Hawai'i. While working in the camp, part of my responsibilities included teaching merit badge classes to up to 15 scouts at a time. I was also required to individually counsel any scouts who needed extra help in any area. Overall, I have roughly 5 years of small group or individual teaching experience.
