I have a Bachelor's Degree from National University with a major in Spanish/Latin American Culture a minor in Early Child Development. I am currently a Preschool Director and a Spanish Teacher to grades Pre-K - 8th grade at an elementary school in Los Angeles.
Throughout my teaching career, I have had the wonderful opportunity to instruct a diverse group of students, including those who performed below, on-, and above grade level. As well, I have participated in numerous professional development courses, allowing me to enhance my teaching techniques and implement engaging activities, which facilitate all styles of learners.
My greatest applicable strength is my ability to design stimulating lesson plans that instill a love for learning and a true appreciation for Spanish language and culture. I incorporate fun manipulatives and hans-on activities to accommodate multiple intelligences, encourage student learning, consolidate important concepts, and enhance student's academic skills. I do not mind traveling outside Los Angeles Area.
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking. I usually hike to Mount Hollywood, the Griffith Observatory and other canyons. I love visiting with friends and family. I have two lovely daughters who already graduated from college. My older daughter is a Chemist and the younger is a chef who owns a beer garden in Orange County.
