I love tutoring and have been working with students and adults alike for almost five years since i moved to LA. After graduating from the University of Memphis with a B.A. in Journalism and Spanish summa cum laude, I taught high school for a year where I taught Spanish I, Speech, and Journalism. I then went to law school and graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi. While there, I was a member of the school's top law review as an editor.
After practicing law in the Memphis, TN area for about three years, I decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue my dream of comedy writing. I very much enjoyed my time as a high school teacher, and I have loved my time tutoring out on the west coast. I have tutored a number of subjects including, Spanish 1 through 4, middle school math, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, English, Essay Writing/Editing, Journalism, and general executive functioning/broad content support.
Every student is different, and I try to craft an approach that will enable academic success to come as easily and efficiently as possible to that student based on his or her own learning style and study techniques. I have had very good success in the past helping students struggling in a particular subject gain both increased skill and confidence such that grades improve and the need for tutoring/support diminishes.

This was our first session with Richard. It was very easy to connect with him to schedule the session. He was on time, very proficient in the subject (Spanish 2) and our child felt that the session was very beneficial.
