In 2016, I began working at a private elementary school in Santa Monica as a teacher's assistant, substitute teacher, after-school supervisor and extracurricular teacher. I try to inspire students and modify lessons based off of their individual learning style. I incorporate executive functioning skills to help build reliable habits for the future and use strategies to make lessons a little easier to digest, like games, reward-based goals, and set breaks with fun activities. I work to emphasize attention to detail, diligence in classwork, and try to promote a sense of pride in a student's success.
I have highly developed writing skills and specialize in helping kids utilize their pencils as a tool to build their future. I teach analytical writing, personal essays, formal essays, college entrance essays, narratives, poetry, and comedy (so, yes, I am funny!).
I genuinely enjoy spending time with students and find that working with them is the easiest path to rewarding work. Feel free to contact me with any questions!
