Hi there! I'm a private math and physics tutor with almost 20 years of experience. I've taught and tutored math and physics in San Francisco Bay Area, New York, and Boston, and now work out of Los Angeles. I've worked with students at all levels, from basic arithmetic through college calculus and beyond. I also do test prep for the the SSAT, SAT, GRE, and GMAT.
I hold a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley, 2003. I've tutored math at the City College of San Francisco Learning Assistance Center (as a full-time tutor coordinator), through UC Berkeley Extension, several private tutoring companies, and independently since 1998.
My Philosophy:
Years of tutoring has taught me one thing - ANYONE CAN LEARN MATH! While not everyone is a born math whiz, with a lot of patience and practice anyone can learn the concepts and tools they need to excel in math. I've worked with countless self-described 'math phobics', and have helped them get over their blocks by explaining concepts on a basic level in ways that anyone can understand. Above all, I'm friendly, encouraging and extremely patient, and I enjoy working with others to help them achieve their goals.
