I graduated from the University of Redlands with a Bachelor of Science degree, major in chemistry and minor in psychology. I was able to tie in the two disciples through my research that extended for a full two years, during which I developed and performed a procedure to extract and separate psychoactive compounds from a plant that aids in the treatment of depression and anxiety. At the end of my four years at university I was ultimately granted a membership in Phi Beta Kappa, a prestigious academic honors society. I have also been published through my work in environmental chemistry research focused on the health of a local lake. I believe that the key in learning chemistry and other sciences lies within methodical approaches to problems and step by step procedures, which can transform a seemingly complex problem into a structured set of clues to the solution. Throughout my time in undergrad I spent three years tutoring students of all ages in many disciples but I am most comfortable helping students with chemistry, math, and psychology work while emphasizing organizational skills that can be applied to future endeavors. I look forward to helping students succeed in school.
