Hey I'm Tristan. I'm an adjunct philosophy professor at Santa Monica College and I've been teaching logic and philosophy for 11 years. I love to think about philosophy and I have a wide range of philosophical interests. I've taught courses on the philosophy of time travel, the ethics of living and dying, paradoxes, philosophy of religion, and many more. My favorite class to teach, however, is logic and critical thinking because of the profound impact it often has on students. Learning to be a good critical thinker can help free us from many harmful idea, and protects against them as we navigate life.
My goal as a teacher or tutor is simply to get you to understand and enjoy the material. I try to simplify the material where I can and spend more time ensuring you get it where I can't. I maintain an informal lighthearted relationship with my students without sacrificing productivity.
If you need help with philosophy or logic I can probably help. Writing papers, doing natural deductions, truth tables, definitions, validity, arguments, soundness, ethics, metaphysics, and so much more, I can probably help.
