Hey there!

My name is Tizzy and I’m 21 years old. I currently attend UCLA after transferring from UC Santa Cruz and major in Political Science. I’m originally from the Bay Area, Ca. and extremely passionate about education. I’ve taught children, teens and even graduate school professors. I truly believe education is liberating, thus I try to gain as much knowledge and wisdom as I can, especially from my own students and those whom I mentor/teach.

Throughout high school and college, I’ve facilitated workshops for youth and young people within my community to develop their writing, reading and overall literary competence. I’ve managed to intersect art with literacy in order to relate to youth and young persons since I’m a spoken word artist, as well. This later developed into a mentorship between me and kids from my community and other neighboring cities.

I’ve also taken three years worth of ethnic studies, social justice and cultural studies courses. History has become one of my favorite things to teach to others because of the extensive knowledge I’ve gained through taking such courses.
