Today, I am a full-time dental student at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC. I work in the clinic from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and am willing to come meet you any other time around that. :)
I received an IB full diploma in 2009. In high school and college, I played football as a long-snapper and offensive linemen. At Hamilton, I received my B.A. in Neuroscience in 2013. Since 2005, I have passionately studied the sciences and mathematics. I took the MCAT in 2012 and 2013 and received top 85th percentile in both physical and biological sciences both times. In 2015, I took the DAT and received above 95th percentile in the sciences (receiving a perfect score in general chemistry). I have always loved science and particularly enjoy sharing this love with others! This summer I passed my National Board Dental Exam and enjoyed studying for that exam.
For the past four years, I have tutored Chinese high school students in San Marino. English is not my students' primary language so I have refined my sense of patience as sometimes, we must review the list of English words before we can begin the lesson. Every student is different and requires a unique approach in order to ensure his/her optimal success in the subject. I love tutoring because I enjoy "nerding" out about scientific concepts and I enjoy helping students understand concepts that once seemed too difficult to contemplate. After our lessons together, you will feel more confident about the subject!
I have professionally tutored Chemistry and Physics both at AP level and College level for four years now. My AP students have received 5s in both subjects and my college students have received As in the course. I am passionate about the sciences and enjoy sharing this passion with my students and classmates.
I have professionally tutored mathematics (algebra 1 - precalculus, including ACT/SAT math) for four years. Math comes easy to me and I enjoy sharing this ease with students who find difficulty in the concepts.
My students feel challenged. Yet, I am good at ensuring that my students feel progress and that no student is left behind. Every lesson ends with an assignment of extra practice problems. Parts of tutoring sessions can include instruction on college to graduate school trajectory.
Please feel free to contact me and we can consult over phone or messaging before we meet. My students have fun while reviewing and retaining concepts. If a student or parent does not feel satisfied with my lesson, then I will not bill the hours.
