Hello! I am a current PhD student in History, studying at UCLA. As a lover of learning myself, I take pride in empowering students to achieve their goals.
Writing
I have a certificate for teaching writing from UCLA, and I have taught and tutored writing students for over 6 years! When working with a student, I meet them at their current skill level and help them break through to a higher standard. I can help you clarify your assignment, organize your ideas, and edit your drafts. I've helped students with writing assignments from junior high school-college in various humanities and social science subjects, such as English, Literature, and history.
History
With a BA and an MA in history, you could say this is a particular specialty of mine! I've taught the equivalent of European History AP at UCLA, and have been recruited to be a grader for the AP exam (I couldn't accept because of scheduling reasons). I've helped students from 8th grade to college-level with various history assignments and I'm happy to help you too!
General
Though my specialities are for writing, English, and history, I have tutored general subjects for junior high students. Most recently, I worked with a great 8th grader in my area for 6 hours/ week for the entire academic year to develop his study skills and bring his grades up in history and science!
