Hello. My name is Sam Biggers and I can definitely help you excel in chemistry. I teach because I love to teach. I want to explain to you, my students, what seems unexplainable. And, I want to give you the explanation of how chemistry and biology work. I have been lecturing and tutoring for 36 years. I have lectured at the Minority Scholars Program (MSP), and the Student Learning Center (SLC) as well as the Golden Bear Center, all at UC Berkeley. I was also a general chemistry and organic chemistry lecturer and lab instructor at New College of California in San Francisco. I also taught at the Berkeley Review for 15 years which prepares premedical students to get into medical school.
I teach general high school chemistry and biology, AP chemistry and biology, college general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry and biology.
What I offer as a tutor is consistent access to me which may be emails, texts or photos and help with lab reports. Part of that consists of us meeting at a place that is convenient for you and safe for you and your family.
From my experience, what works for a student to excel is meeting with me or corresponding with me on a regular basis. I can certainly help with last minute meetings before exams, but students do not excel that way. I want my students to excel and I am committed to that goal. So, I suggest meetion regularly. And, for those who are returning to school after a long break from academics, I highly suggest meeting a week or more before your class even starts, just to get you back up to speed. I look forward teaching you!
