In our fast-paced society, more times than not, students are educated just to be sufficient in a subject. My intent as a tutor is to educate a student to master that subject -- to be proficient in ... See more
Tulsa is right in the heart of the Bible Belt, where folks spend their Sundays in church and you might get the sarcastic “bless your heart” every once in a while. It is a place with a lot of heart and they care about being good Christians. And any good Christian knows that there is a certain amount of textual analysis required if you are going to interpret the Bible. That is just another reason to try English tutors in Tulsa.
We do not expect you to become one of the next great theologians, but you will be the king of Sunday school when you are able to tell the teacher all of the ins and outs about Peter and Paul. One of the great Tulsa tutors can sit down with you to discuss whatever you would like. We work with you to craft the best experience for you.
The old text and way of speaking in the Bible or even the works of William Shakespeare can make you feel like you need to take beginner’s English again with words that went obsolete when the dodo went extinct. A Tulsa English tutor can take the stress and shame of not knowing and give you the confidence to succeed.
There are plenty of English tutors available now to make sure that you are not left behind in class. Pressure is mounting, but you do not ever have to fear it. You are great and can take on the pressure. Sometimes, it just takes a little help to see your greatness inside.
My first experience tutoring came while attending the University of Southern California in 2005. There, I assisted fellow classmates in preparing for upcoming exams and found great reward in helping others gain confidence in their academics abilities. After graduation, I was presented with the opportunity to join a network of USC alumni providing tutoring services to the surrounding community. Through this network, I began tutoring elementary and middle school students in their homes, gaining more subject experience and acquiring a ... See more

Fans of Jurassic Park, Timeline, Congo, State of Fear, or any of the other great works of the author Michael Crichton will surely know one of his other great works, Twister. The book, which was turned into a film, was about the tornadoes that tear through the state of Oklahoma and those in Tulsa are no stranger to their devastation. Crichton is one of the great writers of his time and might have enjoyed the help of English tutoring in Tulsa when he was in college. Or maybe in Boston.
Crichton went to Harvard College in the sixties with the intention of learning to become a writer. He studied literature and struggled in class. Professors seemed to be giving him strangely low marks for his writing and continued to criticize his writing style. He could have tried going to a literature tutor, although we were not around at the time to help him find his best match so it might be good that he did not. Instead, like a scene from the Rodney Dangerfield movie Back to School, Crichton submitted a George Orwell essay as his own and got a B minus. Instead, Crichton graduated with a biological anthropology degree.
Too often, bad teachers and professors are turning great writers away. They make English feel like it is an arbitrary practice where nothing meets the high bar of critics. You should never feel like your story is not worth telling because it does not instantly become Catcher in the Rye. If George Orwell can get a B minus, you have no reason to fear writing. All you can do is keep working to make sure you are proud of what you put out and we will help you do so with Tulsa English tutoring.
