About Polatip

To be sufficient in a subject is to be able to perform the problems assigned to you. To be proficient in a subject is to be able to perform any problem that could be assigned to you, or at least tackle them adequately. In our fast-paced society, more times than not, students are educated just to be sufficient in a subject. My intent as a tutor is to educate a student to master that subject -- to be proficient in it, to have an all-seeing eye not just for the right answer but for the steps to obtain that right answer, and to be able to change, separate, and recombine those steps as necessary to tackle any other related problem. That is my mission as a tutor.

As a physicist, I have one and a half years of research experience in a physical chemistry laboratory under Dr. Luke Hanley, Program Director at the National Science Foundation and Former Head of the Department of Chemistry of the University of Illinois at Chicago. In terms of mathematical training, in high school, I received a 5 in AP Calculus BC. In college, I have taken Calculus III (multivariable calculus), Applied Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations.

As a philosopher, I have extensive experience in writing and formal logic. Logic should be an essential component of all writing that involves argumentation, but not many people are trained formally in logic. That formal logic is usually a lot different than people outside the field may expect. That type of writing is especially prevalent for people who want to take the LSAT.

I have taken all courses for my university's pre-medicine program.

In high school, I received a 5 in AP US History, AP European History, AP Language & Composition, AP Psychology, and AP Statistics. In college, I have taken two years of Latin.
