English, the language of the people of England and the U.S. and many areas now or formerly under British control. Used for thousands of years, this is a language that is spoken by about 20% of the world’s population. Because of this, it is an important language that is used by billions of people on the daily. However, English is pretty challenging to learn for both non-English speakers and those who use it as their native tongue. Whether you are trying to pick it up as a second language or simply struggling with a class you are enrolled in, we have the English tutors that you need. At HeyTutor we pride ourselves for providing fantastic tutors who are well versed in English and can help you reach all sorts of goals. This is an opportunity that you cannot pass up if you are serious about advancing in the English language.
English is a tricky language to learn for someone who is not a native speaker. There are several aspects within the language that can confuse you and leave you wondering why it even exists in the first place. For example, there is no actual ham in a hamburger still the first word in it is ham. The English language is notorious for having things like this scattered throughout that are confusing to pick up. But when you have English tutoring, it will make learning these things a lot simpler. Our tutors are college educated and have been working as English teachers for years. They know exactly what to do in order to make sure that you learn all there is to know about the English language. A private English tutor is the only way to learn this language so that you are prepared when you enter the real world and start speaking. Although it is incredibly challenging for non-English speakers, as mentioned it is still difficult for individuals who grew up speaking the language.
There are several people who go through school and still never know how to speak and write in proper English. If you do not want this to happen to your child you know “I need an English tutor.” The best way to ensure that your child picks up the necessary skills and understand the rules of grammar is for them to work with an English tutor. For example, I was a Creative Writing major while I was in college which is a branch of the English department. However, I never learned English grammar rules while I was in college. That did not happen until I was enrolled in actual grammar courses. This is the type of knowledge that your child will get from an early age to make sure that they have these coveted skills. By doing this you will make sure they are a better writer and communicator overall. We use English in everything that we do, so it only makes sense for them to start picking up these skills right away. It will make school a lot easier for them but also life in general. Simply being able to speak properly is something that can be the difference between your child getting a job and not getting one when it comes down to it. So to make sure they are set up for future success, you need to find an English tutor you can trust.
That is exactly what we provide at HeyTutor. If your child never had problems in English or with their ability to speak or write while in elementary school you might not have thought about searching for “English tutoring near me.” You did not feel as if they needed this service. However, now they are in middle school and struggling to keep up. When this happens you need to put them in contact with a one-on-one English tutor. As mentioned, English is not something that is going to go away. Your child is always going to either have to take some sort of English class or simply speak the language. So you need to make sure you get rid of this problem right now so that it does not stick with them for the rest of their life. Our language tutors are all well-versed in the English language and are all educated so they have a strong knowledge of this subject matter. They will truly be able to help your child in ways that you did not see imaginable. We have tutors who can help them with their paper or simply pick up basic grammar practices. No matter what your child’s goals are our tutors will be able to work with them and make things happen. This is a service that is truly unmatched and you cannot get anywhere else.

This will start with our tutors completely understanding your child's strengths and weaknesses as well as their learning style. If English has never been something that is your best subject, you might find that you are struggling with your career. There might be things that your job is asking for you that you simply cannot do because you never really had the understanding. For example, your spoken English might be solid and due to that, you know how to use commas based on feeling. But you have no idea of why they go there and most times it is just a guessing game. So in order for you to get the understanding you seek, you need to find an “English tutor near me.” When you work with one of our tutors, you will not be getting someone who is just going to tell you the things you write look good. They are going to break it down for you so that you absolutely understand what you are doing and why you are doing it. This way you will have the skills and knowledge to make educated decisions when you get back to work. This will help the way you communicate not only with the written language but also with your spoken language. Overall you will be a stronger communicator and your boss will take notice as you progress in your understanding of all things English with each session.

I’m extremely satisfied with her “Quality Sessions!” at the highest level of skills in English. My assignment typically requires 5,000 words length, and when summarizing it, it gets complex, ambiguous, redundant. I learned lots of techniques from her how to structure, paraphrase, summarize long and technical subjects in simple and comprehensive way. Not only is she detail-oriented but also people-oriented. She is extremely engaging by motivating learners improve their skills: with her effective communication and efficient way how she manages session by ensuring to meet deadlines. She knows exactly where pain points (learner’s difficulties) & pressure points (enlightenment approach) are, and effectively using her magic fingers (teaching technique) to efficiently relieve the pain (knowledge building). I got smarter by getting her sessions. She teaches like what Confucius says, “Teach them correct principles and let them govern themselves.” Tannaz is the BEST! Highly Recommended!
Teagan is an excellent tutor. He is always punctual and thoughtful in his approach to tutoring the kids. At first, we were looking to have him come over to work with just our oldest. However, we are now having him work with all three kids in reading and writing online. We love the convenience of being able to have tutoring sessions over the computer and Teagan does an excellent job of personalizing and picking material that the children are genuinely interested in. He makes learning fun and we have seen their confidence and skills grow over just a few sessions with Teagan. He is great in getting kids up to speed in subjects as well as working with advanced and GT sudents. We feel so grateful to have found such a great tutor for our children. Teagan is so wonderful that my husband jokingly said that we shouldn’t tell too many people about him but he is too great not to share and brag about. We look forward to having him work with our family for several years to come.
My teenage daughter is very happy with Hannah. We hired Hannah to work with my daughter to improve her writing responses for the AP World History test. My daughter has some hearing loss and she always has to work hard when writing essays. The timed aspect of the AP World History was causing stress so Hannah is teaching her the various steps in writing: reading the passage for key points, outlining the essay, and writing the essay. While the AP exam is the immediate goal, learning skills for successful writing in any future classes is the ultimate goal. The first week's session was introductions and Hannah getting to know my daughter (& vice versa) and my daughter's style/method of thinking & learning. Hannah and my daughter ended up having a lot of similar interests so it started off the tutoring sessions on a positive note. My daughter's reluctance to add 'another hour of tutoring' disappeared (my daughter also has one for Spanish because of her hearing).
I am a professional Data Scientist applying for PhD programs in Computer Science. I am not a strong writer, so I wanted some help with writing my personal statement and letter of intent. I met with Dexter on two occasions for roughly a total of six hours. Dexter came well-prepared to both sessions with notes and material on the best techniques for writing these essays. It was clear that, prior to my lesson, he had taken time out of his day to prep and make sure that our time spent together would be as productive as possible. I really liked the way Dexter was able to help me put my ideas into words in a structured format. He asked excellent questions that helped generate new ideas for what to write. By the end of the two sessions, I had complete and well-written drafts of both the personal statement and the letter of intent. Also, Dexter continued to edit the essays after our sessions (free of charge). I highly recommend Dexter as a tutor.
Superb in all respects! She has never ceased to amaze me the way she approaches to learners with her collaborative and creative teaching techniques to inspire learning motivations. She is extremely intelligent and insightful that she can instantly grasp difficulties of what the learners have and enlighten them develop new ways to examine and solve problems with her precise analytics and well-thought-out presentations effectively. It’s just like she knows exactly where pain points are and relieves the pain by applying magic-finger pressure accurately without using needles. Additionally, she has great digital skills enhanced by her best teaching practice. Highly recommended!
Superb in all respects! She has such a distinguished approach to detailed work at the highest level of quality and skills in written English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Also, she has supernatural inspiration to motivate learners to work on their own, and to ensure that they meet goals and deadlines. Additionally, she is extremely open-minded and eager to improve learners’ skills and thinking processes for changing better and simpler, and that develops continuous learning mindsets. While coaching learners, she has strong open-eyed ability to stay focused throughout an entire document, which may be long and technical. Highly recommended!
Superb in all respects! She is a super amazing learner-centered educator continuing to provide me, such consistent, tailored, high-quality sessions! She is such a collaborative and creative thinker always keeping a sharp eye on my progress. I’ve taken over a dozen of her sessions, and she is very engaging in learning process, always going extra miles to fine-tune my thoughts – Always exceeding my expectation way beyond and bringing me such a great satisfaction and experience!! Highly Recommended!!!
Ms. Reynoso is very professional, articulate, punctual and very knowledgeable in tutoring elementary students in writing. Not only she is friendly with kids, she understands the behavior aspects of young children. I like how Ms. Reynoso spends the first lesson getting to know my son, finding out what his weaknesses are in writing and simply getting my son to be comfortable around her. By the second session, Ms. Reynoso meant business. She went straight into training my son in writing.
Superb in all respects! I just wanted to reemphasize her strength: “Approach to detailed work,” “High level of skill in written English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation,” “Motivate learners to work on their own, and ensure to meet deadlines,” and “Ability to stay focused throughout an entire document, which may be long and technical.” Her "Articulation," "Proficiency," and "Punctuality" are all super Excellent! Highly recommended!
Superb in all respects! She is a super amazing educator continuously providing “Quality Sessions!” She teaches exceptionally clear and concise by using relevant examples, fostering to make bridges between my awareness and actions. She is extremely intelligent, creative, and spiritedly engaging, that always makes me feel “She really loves to teach and cares passionately about her profession!!” – Highly Recommended!!!
Elena has been teaching for us for several weeks. We have a 10 year old and a 7 year old. The older student is a special needs student, and both are behind. She has been superior. She is great with the boys and we see progress in reading, language use, and writing. She is such a wonderfully cheery person, and always comes prepared with both lessons and fun activities. We would absolutely recommend her.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Ms. Maggie. She works so well with my daughter, Evelyn. She’s very kind and patient. Her reading has improved immensely since she started tutoring with Ms. Maggie. This has helped her in all areas of school. Also, she’s always preferred graphic novels, but she’s now starting to choose chapter books at the library and during this year’s book fair.
Ezequiel Aguilar is an incredibly intuitive and sensitive teacher. He has a great ability to reign in my son and get him engaged and refocused. My son can be especially challenging at times, but Ezequiel handles him with grace and without even a hint of frustration allowing my son to regain the confidence he might have lost in a few moments of struggle. We're so grateful he is on your team.
I have waited to give Evan a review to see if there is consistency. He has been amazing! I have a very busy schedule that can make planning ahead very difficult at times. He is very flexible and will provide feedback when the kids need more time on a particular topic. Both my son and daughter feel so much more confident in their math capabilities! Evan I can't thank you enough!
Gina is such a pleasant person and a great match for my daughter. From the very beginning she had had excellent communication with me throughout the process of both scheduling sessions and also after session briefing. She always gives me tools to use with my child throughout the week until they meet again. My daughter enjoys reading with her and I think she is a great match for us.
Very flexible with the schedule, and very communicative. Has provided me excellent feedback, and excellent observations about my sons strengths and weaknesses. She could have written the material herself, however, they have a working together, and my son is very hopeful that he will get all of his assignments completed. He was not hopeful before tutoring, he was defeated.
My daughters reading is below her grade level. When AR testing her mind goes blank and never scores. This brought her self esteem down to the point where she was starting to stress out. After the first session with Jaquie it brought her self esteem back up and started scoring. Now my daughter enjoys reading and scores a 100% on all her AR testings.
We have been working with Elena for a couple months now. We ate so happy with her. She is always punctual, she is always prepared, and she works so well with the different personalities of the kids We hope to continue to use her for a long future ahead. I give her as many starts and more as you can give . We are blessed to have found her.
Elena has only been with us for two sessions, but she already been wonderful with our two boys. She used the first week to get to know them, and managed to engaged them in week 2. One is special needs and both have an IEP. They have responded really well, and clearly they are benefiting from her approach. Can't recommend her enough.
Vanessa is amazing! I have seen improvements in my son's reading comprehension and writing skills only after two classes with Vanessa. She is very patient with elementary school children and reviews the material several times until they get it! I'm so glad we were matched with Vanessa and highly recommend her for ELA tutoring.
