Hello, my name is Ingrid. I am looking for new students in the city of Roswell, Alpharetta and Johns Creek. That's where most of my students live. My professional credentials in the Spanish language span two decades. I have a bachelor's degree in English Education from The State University of New York at Buffalo, an associate degree in elementary education from the City University of New York, and a Certification in Linguistics (Translation) from Florida International University. In addition to my extensive education, I have a TEFL Certification and experience teaching in a classroom setting and in small groups, and over 15 years of private tutoring experience. I currently teach Spanish at an Elementary School (p/t). In my spare time, I enjoy being active and learn other languages such as French and Italian, and just about anything else. I also really love Traveling around and exploring new places!
I believe two of the major obstacles that students face are self-confidence and self-motivation. Having a private tutor is the best way to overcome these hurdles. Personalized one-on-one interaction encourages students to perform at their highest level. Experiencing personal growth in these areas is the first step to gaining self-confidence. With this upper hand, students are more likely to be to push themselves to set even higher expectations.
My goal in developing this confidence and motivation is to help students become independent learners. Having the confidence and motivation to approach any task with the mindset of gaining a full understanding of the topic is intrinsically linked to being successful, no matter what avenue you choose. I strive to cultivate that curiosity and the desire in our students to strive to know why, ultimately giving them the competitive edge that helps them stand out from the crowd.
My teaching style includes a mix of technical grammar comprehension;immersion drills and conversation skills. I integrate a variety of techniques (visual aids, sound aids, animation, hands-on, verbal and nonverbal activities) to ensure complete understanding of the specific concepts.
I love to make my tutoring methods as dynamic as possible. So if you're looking for a fun way to learn Spanish, you found the right person. Contact me now!
