As a tutor, I aspire to realize your greatest potential. I believe everyone has the capacity for genius; it’s just so often we lack the eyes to see it. Learning is not essentially the accumulation of facts and good grades, but the cultivation of inner power to accomplish what you are called to do.
I focus primarily on language, literature, and writing. Since speaking at the age of six months, I have found language to be a powerful ally. We all lead different lives, but we all live with language. By attending to this constant companion, you acquire greater insight into the way you think, speak, and write---insight, really, into why you do what you do. Tap into that “why,” and you access the power for success not only at school and at work, but in all of life.
I’ve mentored a family of Burmese refugee children for years and taught English to Chinese international PhD candidates. I served as a Head Fellow at the Writing Center at Brown University while completing an English degree from the same institution. With my experience, I hope to provide more than knowledge; I hope to empower you to succeed wherever life leads you, beyond assignments, and beyond your time with me. To all those seeking a linguistic adventure and an unfailing advocate of the best you, I look forward to meeting.
