My name is Mel, I have 4 years of tutoring experience. I started tutoring Italian when I was an undergraduate student, and have been tutoring ever since. My subjects include Italian, ESL (TOEFL/IELTS preparation, grammar, writing, accent reduction, etc), Latin, Study Skills, Linguistics, Elementary French, and I can help you with your essay writing skills.
I love tutoring because it gives me the opportunity to create personalized lessons for my students. Often, student fall behind because they don't belong to a "one size fits all" kind of learning. When tutoring, the student can voice his/her needs, I can learn about his/her learning styles, and I work hard to make sure I can make the material relevant to the student as much as possible. It's much easier to learn when the material is made interesting.
Some fun facts about me: I own three pet rats, I can solve Rubik's Cube in less than a minute, and by the time I was 8, I had read over 100 books.
