Just outside of Greensboro, rumor has it that you might find a ghost. Lydia’s Bridge is named for the woman who haunts people that drive across. The story goes that a young woman flags down a passing car. If they agree to give her a ride, she proceeds to the back seat. Once you pull up to her home, she asks if you will let her out, but when you go to open the door, you notice that she is gone. Some have knocked on the door at her house, where an old woman lives. She tells people that Lydia died in a car crash on the bridge many years before. Spooky. Scary. Like a werewolf Bar Mitzvah.
To many, statistics is the real fright. No matter how much time you spend studying or working on practice problems, sometimes it just does not stick. If this describes you, statistics tutors in Greensboro might be the best way to turn things around. For example, there are a few different areas of statistics that you will learn. First, you learn about exploring data. Using dotplots, stemplots, and histograms, you will graph sets of data to interpret distributions. At the start, you might work with univariate data, which means that there is only one variable, but eventually, you get to bivariate data, which can be terrifyingly complex. Statistics tutors can help you sort through the second variable.
Beyond this, you will learn about sampling and creating experiments. That includes going through all of the different types of sampling. Should you use a random sample? Should you separate the population into strata? Might this data benefit from being clustered? Should you use more than one method as part of a multistage sample? Which order should you use each method?
All of these questions and more can be answered by your Greensboro statistics tutor. Our math tutors are prepared to help with anything you can throw at them.

Now this is going to sound completely insane, but Greensboro’s former mayor, Keith Holliday, proposed a measure to freeze the prisoners in Greensboro. He had mixed feelings about capital punishment, feeling that the death penalty was not an effective solution, as many instances where a prisoner has been executed, only to later be found innocent. You can’t unring that bell. Holliday proposed a less final solution. Instead of killing the prisoners, we would cryogenically freeze them. If they turn out to be innocent, we can thaw them back out. The city council laughed in his face. Probably because, while the science exists in TV shows like Futurama, it is not even on the horizon in reality. Some scientists claim to be working on the technology, but mainstream scientists consider them charlatans.
It seems that Holliday must have taken Jonathan Swift’s Modest Proposal a little too seriously. Swift proposed eating children during the famine, which was satirical, but some did not realize. In many ways, it was the earliest example of people falling for The Onion or the dawn of fake news.
Working with statistics tutoring in Greensboro is an idea that is much less out there. Greensboro tutors look for realistic solutions to problems, not experimental, outside-the-box tries that have insane consequences.
Instead of proposing bad solutions to fix your grades, like stealing the answers to a test or murdering your teacher, look into Greensboro statistics tutoring.
