Hi! My name is Cierra Powell. I graduated from Utah Valley University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I love learning!
Softball is a great sport with many different positions and skills to learn. From batting practice to fielding practice there is always room for growth. Being on a high school softball team isn’t enough in the competitive area of softball these days, but working with a private softball tutor can give you the competitive edge. Softball tutoring can help you hit and throw the ball harder. A personalized coach can help you learn how to improve getting ground or fly balls and allow you to improve your footwork. They can also help you with your pitching form as well as your swing.
Playing softball as a child can be a lot of fun. You get to hang out with friends and be apart of a team, but often children do not take it too seriously. It is just an excuse to hang out. However, there are the select few that fall in love with the game right away. If this is your child or you just want to expose them to a new sport you know for a fact that “I need a softball tutor.” A softball tutor is perfect for a young child because they can teach them the fundamentals before the season even starts. Things such as how to properly throw the ball or just the rules are things taken for granted but they need to be taught. There is no better way for your child to learn this than when you find a softball tutor who has a professional background. Your child will use this knowledge to start on their route to softball glory.
Our high school softball tutors know that as players get older the competition gets better. Because they have experience as a player or a former coach, they know how to prepare your child for this transition. Going from middle school to high school is also the best time to switch positions or change up a swing. Your child might be a better catcher than a third base player but they never played with their select team. Your tutor will be able to see if your child is a good fit for this position and then give them the tools to succeed. Or your child might be struggling with the speed of the pitching in the high school game. There swing might be too slow or too high, our tutors can help them alter this so they can make the team and move up to the next level. If your student wants to play in college they need to make sure they take the necessary steps to reach that goal as softball is one of the hardest sports to play at the D1 level.
If you are one of the coveted few who gets the chance to play at the next level you know you must continue to get better. The college softball game is ultra competitive and each day you have to improve your game. Our college softball tutors will help you build a workout that will be focused on your strengths and weaknesses. For example, you may have gotten through the majority of your high school softball career without really having to work out in the gym. But once you get into college you notice you are not as strong or fast as some of the other players. Our tutors can help you reach your softball fitness goals so you can shine on the diamond.
In college, you also already know what position you are playing so our tutors will be able to give you positional workouts. Or if your coach wants you to switch positions this might make the transition all the more difficult. This is when you will absolutely need to find a “softball tutor near me” or “softball tutoring near me.” When you do that you are putting yourself in the best position to get out there and make an immediate impact on your team. Softball is also a great way to stay in shape and hang out with friends once you get older. There are a ton of recreational softball leagues all around the country, many of them are ultra competitive. If you are not as good as you once were and want to get back at it, you might be sick of embarrassing yourself. You can't just go out there and expect to be as good as you used to be, you have to put in a little extra work whether it be behind the plate or in the field. A softball tutor will make sure you get to where you need to be to perform.

Increase your chances of playing softball on your high school team or in college. Maybe even work hard enough to earn a scholarship. The opportunities are there when you work with a private softball coach. Your sessions are personalized so you have the chance to spend the whole time working on your batting, or you can solely work on learning a new pitch if you’re a pitcher. You can even split it into field and batting practice, or just conditioning. You can choose to work on whatever you need to and get some of the best support you can find.
When your child works with a private softball coach, they will get the one-on-one attention they need in order to truly learn about the game. There is no time to truly understand the ins and outs of softball when your child is at practice. The coach is focusing on all of the players just trying to get them to do the basics. When you work with one of our tutors they will make sure your child actually understands the fundamentals of the game.
Your child will be working with a professional who has played the game at a high level and knows all there is to know about the game. You want to instill good habits at a young age so that your child holds on to them and uses them as they get older and continue to play. If they only get their training at practice they may be looked over if they make contact with the ball but the form is awful. The coach just cares that your child can hit the ball so they can score or throw it to make an out. The form is not as important, but our tutors will make sure they have the correct mechanics.
If you are in high school or college you know that mechanics are everything. When talent starts to plateau and everyone is really good, the thing that stays consistent are the fundamentals. The more fundamentally sound you are as a player the easier the game is to you and the better you are as a player. We often see professionals going through hitting slumps or pitching slumps and it always comes back to the fundamentals or the mechanics. If you do not put in the hours it will affect the way you play the game. Our athletics tutors will make sure that you are putting in the hours but also that you are maintaining proper form. When you work out it is crucial that you do things the right way so you get better.
Pitching and hitting are two of the main things that players struggle with, which is why finding a great player who can do both of these things is rare. If you are a pitcher you know the benefits of working with someone who has pitching knowledge. They can teach you new pitches that your coach could never teach and also critique you on the small details. When you are pitching even the smallest wrist movement can completely alter your pitch. So working with someone who understands this and can keep you focused on the little things will come in handy when you start playing. A great hitting coach is also hard to find but when you work with our professional tutors you will be teamed up with one. A nice swing is difficult to come by and if you are transitioning you may find out real quick that hitting is not the same at all levels. Players throw harder and get more creative which can leave you feeling depleted when you walk up to the plate. Our tutors will give you the tools you need to approach the plate with confidence, as you know you have put in the work. Your own worst enemy is you, so do not hold yourself back by not working hard.
