Hello there, and thanks for reading this note to you!
My name is Christine, and I am a state-certified teacher. I provide help for students of all ages in many different subject areas. Having well over 20 years of experience as a teacher, during that time I have worked with students from kindergarten to college age and beyond.
I have a gentle and understanding manner with my students, always communicating with them in an easy manner, and treating everyone with the respect and dignity they deserve. I also realize that every learner has his or her own abilities, strengths and weaknesses. I work with that in mind and always attempt to bring the learner up to speed with what the school's or the family's expectations are.
I travel to many towns on a daily basis, working with students on English (reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar and punctuation), Spanish, U.S. History, Civics, otherwise known as Participation in Government, and other subjects as necessary.
Working closely with students and the their teachers or parents, I make sure that the work is done in an organized, timely and efficient manner. I find that a lot of students do need help with organizing their work folders, so I spend time on that, too, and even encourage them to keep a daily record or log of what work has been accomplished and what is left to be done. This seems to help them stay organized and keep on top of what work is due when so there are no disappointments and nothing "falls through the cracks."
I attempt to enlighten students about expectations, and that accountability to their teachers, parents, or peers is extremely important. On the other hand, if just plain subject matter needs to be learned, and if study skills should be strengthened, I will help with that, too.
If you have legitimate concerns about a loved one's abilities or progress, please think about establishing a healthy relationship with a patient, compassionate and understanding educator who will do what needs to be done to help get anyone on the track towards their full potential.
I am sure you will agree that a little kindness goes a long way, too! Thanks so much for reading this letter, and I hope to speak with you soon.
Best wishes to you and your family,
Christine
