Struggling to learn is often misperceived as a problem and/or weakness, but that's a mistake. Instead, it is an indication of great intellectual capacity and strength waiting to be explored and understood.
Learning was never meant to be an obstacle but a challenge worth investing in. I teach adults of different careers and students of all ages and help them understand themselves in relation to learning. My approach is unique. I cover many subjects and skills ranging from novice to proficient levels.
I graduated Bard College earning a Masters Degree in Education and Literature. I completed my student teaching in the Bronx, NY. My thesis explored personalization in the classroom encouraging students to personally connect with academics. I spent the last 10 years assisting and teaching students with various developmental disabilities, tutored students and adults needing, not extra help, but a different approach to learning unique to them. I understand firsthand some basic principles in the diverse field of processing information differently.
Subjects I tutor:
Reading, Academic Writing, English, Art, (drawing, illustrating, lettering), Graphic Design, Creative Writing, Poetry, and how to be creative and why it’s important.
Tech Skills: Windows 10 OS, Microsoft Office 0365 (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel), Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Audition, Premiere Pro), Google Drive, and the basics of Google Analytics.
I also can lead workshops in any of these fields. I look forward to assisting you!
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
