About Maureen

I just retired in May 2020 after 14 years as an elementary teacher. I am certified by the State of Missouri to teach grades 1 through 6. I have a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. I specialize in tutoring reading and writing. Due to COVID-19, I am only doing online tutoring. Prior to being a teacher, I had a career as a communications writer.

I create individual lessons differentiated for each student. I can also help with existing assignments that students are doing in school. What makes me an outstanding elementary tutor is my 14 years of experience being a classroom teacher. I helped many students gain academic skills and confidence in their abilities. I spent 12 of these years preparing students to take the Missouri MAP test.
