I have Bachelor's degrees in English and French & Francophone Studies (Linguistics Option) and a minor in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from The Pennsylvania State University. I have 3.5 years of experience in teaching various English subjects -- 2.5 of which were spent at the high school level in an American curriculum school in Suzhou, China, and one year of experience at the elementary school level in a private, IB world-school that specializes in STEM, where I currently teach. While teaching in China, I received certification to teach AP English Language & Composition from The College Board. I have also studied the French language in all linguistic areas (phonology, semantics, syntax) and have served as a teaching assistant in which I assisted in creating and delivering beginner French lessons at the high school level.
I believe in providing tutoring sessions in which I can help students strengthen their reading and writing skills while encouraging them to hone their creativity and imagination through engaging assignments.
