I have a Bachelor's Degree in Child, Adult, and Family Services from Iowa State University. This major gives me a background in many of the Social Sciences, such as: Sociology, Psychology, and Family/Child Development. In the past, I have done volunteer reading tutoring at the Elementary School Level and for the past year I have been a writing tutor at Iowa State's Writing and Media Center, helping college students with WOVE (Written, Oral, Verbal, and Electronic) Communication. I have worked with first year college students all the way to Graduate students working on their Master's and Doctorate Degrees. I am open to tutoring reading and writing from elementary to college level. In addition, I can help people in the Social Sciences. I take a non-directive tutoring approach, where I view my role as someone who scaffolds the tutee to reach their goals, rather than just telling them how to do things.
