Hello!
My name is Lance Fuller and I am an English language instructor and educator based in Tampa, FL. I have a bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Florida (2010) as well as a 300-hour TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) diploma with specialized training in teaching online and Business English.
Since December 2020, I have been teaching English as a Second Language online and have taught for four online companies: Qkids and Zebra English from China, Cambly and Cambly Kids from the United States, and Fluentbe from Poland. I have taught hundreds of students from as young as two years old to as old as 74 from more than 35 countries and all abilities and skill levels.
Prior to becoming an ESL instructor, I worked in professional communications in Washington, DC from 2010 to 2018. For about 8 years I had a security clearance and worked as a contractor for the State Department, the Department of Justice, and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, as well as a few small businesses. My roles ranged from content management and program support to senior technical writer roles where I would write and edit the entire documentation of million-dollar cybersecurity programs and contracts with the U.S. federal government. Many of the documents I wrote were educational in nature and included user and administration guides, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), service-level agreements, how-tos, step-by-step instructions on how to install, operate, and troubleshoot programs, and regular trainings. I would often present my craft and editing services in meetings with senior executive management.
My journalism education and previous career in IT have set me up for success in working with children and adults to learn English as a second language.
I welcome students of all ages and skill levels and abilities to learn with me and I look forward to seeing you in my classroom!
