I have over four years experience in tutoring/teaching which includes teaching English to non-native speakers in Costa Rica and Japan, tutoring elementary level to advanced levels of Spanish at my college, tutoring Elementary Math to College Algebra and more. In my free time, I love to learn new languages, travel, write, vlog as well as dance and instruct Latin and West African dances. My teaching style is pretty hands-on and relevant. I like to give my tutees real-life examples, use analogies and go through a lot of practice drills. From my experience, I have witnessed the most progress in my students' work when they are both encouraged to solve problems on their own with my guidance and are enthusiastic about the course material. As a result, I make our sessions fun! Be it music, fun riddles or online videos that I use, I extrapolate from many subjects to help my tutees comprehend and master the skills in the subject matter at hand. Mastering a language or concept in Math requires practice, patience and a can-do attitude. I've found that the aforementioned are core ingredients to my students' progress and their academic success. With my help, it is my hope that you will not only know the right answer but that you will understand why the answer is right and even more, feel empowered and equip to find the right answer by yourself.
