I have over 20 years of experience working with students of all ages and all levels of English fluency. Most of my students are high schoolers or adults, but I can work with students of all ages.

I focus on both on getting results and identifying and correcting any issues that might be holding a student back from reaching his or her full potential. I am patient and understanding of all the issues facing students preparing for a test or struggling with English at school or at work.

A quick run-down of the subjects I teach:

High School Test Prep: ACT, SAT, iSEE (English sections)

I am extremely effective in preparing students for these tests, which are among the most important tests a student will take. I can supply material taken from real tests, and I go through each question with the student, identifying the type of question and the appropriate strategy. My students constantly tell me that they scored much higher than they had anticipated after working with me. Please see my student testimonials.

Non-native English speaker Test Prep: TOEFL, IELTS (All sections)

Did you get a 55 on TOEFL but need a 90+ score? I can show you how to do it. Most of TOEFL and IELTS students see their scores increase by 30%-50% after studying with me. We cover all parts the test, with special emphasis on the sections that give you the most trouble. Need a 26 in the TOEFL speaking section for licensing qualifications? Many of my students do, and most of them attain that score after working with me. I also cover IELTS with the same results, for students who take that test. Please see my student testimonials.

Grad Student Test Prep: GMAT (English section)

Critical reasoning is the secret to a successful life, and GMAT is how your critical reasoning skills are measured. We work on logic, arguments, and fallacies. We also work on how to analyze reading passages and how to identify issues in sentence correction quickly and efficiently.

Other high school English:

Reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and composition are all subjects I teach, and can help you or your child work through any problems that might be affecting their grades. In each case, I look for any underlying issues that may be affecting their progress. I also try to show the student how reading and writing can actually be fun, and even fulfilling. I also monitor the student's assignments and make sure they are done in a timely manner and satisfy the teacher's requirements.

Other college English:

I can help with term papers, research papers, and any other facet of college-level English. I teach college writing and reading skills, and I also can proofread your papers before you submit them to ensure you get the highest score possible. I can discuss literature you need to read, and also go over the basics of outlining, time management, thesis writing, self-correction, etc.

ESL and other English:

All ages and levels are welcome. If you need to improve your English for school, work, or socialization, I can help. Vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and speaking help are all available. Let me help you attain the level of fluency you desire.
