I have dual associates degrees: social & behavioral sciences and kinesiology. I have experience tutoring both math and language arts to students in elementary. My goal for the individuals that I tutor is to get them to create good study habits as well discovering their preferred learning style. Once the student has an idea of how they best learn (visual, hands-on, auditory) they can then incorporate that into their homework time or when they self-study.
I identify myself as Mexican American, or Latina. I am bilingual in English and Spanish. My favorite color is green and I have a dog named Cbear. I enjoy the nature, walks and Spanish literature. I worked for three years in the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Cruz County. I graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a humanities major. I enjoy collaborating with diverse communities and nonprofits.

I enjoy working with kids and young adults and helping them set put educational goals as well as assisting them to achieve those goals. Growing up I didn't have many people to turn to for help in school and I want to give those students like my younger self a person when they need educational assistance.

To be sufficient in a subject is to be able to perform the problems assigned to you. To be proficient in a subject is to be able to perform any problem that could be assigned to you, or at least tackle them adequately. My intent as a tutor is to educate a student to master that subject -- to be proficient in ... See more

After graduation, I was presented with the opportunity to join a network of USC alumni providing tutoring services to the surrounding community.
