Hello friends and music lovers, my name is Nathan! I graduated from Berklee College of Music (film scoring/composition/guitar) and earned a Master's degree from USC's Thornton School of Music (Screen Scoring). I am a multi-instrumentalist (guitar/piano/bass/percussion) and spend most of my time composing music for film, TV and video games.
Music is my passion and I love sharing the knowledge I have acquired during my studies and professional experiences. During my undergraduate and graduate studies I have had many students that I tutored at the collegiate level in the subjects of music theory, tonal harmony, jazz harmony, counterpoint, ear training, composition and music production. The music industry (and film/video game industry) are built on collaborations and relationships, and the sharing of knowledge is fundamental in the progression of our field. I enjoy tutoring for the sole reason of helping other aspiring musicians achieve a deeper understanding of how music works so that she/he might be able to find their voice and create their music.
Everyone has a different learning style and I adapt my methods to fit the students individual needs. I also incorporate practical and hands on methods of teaching music and implement technology in all of my lessons.
I hope to hear from you and if you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to ask!
