You might have had some long days if you live in Anchorage. The sun does not really go down when you live that far up north. There are 20 hours of sunlight in Anchorage per day, leaving just a tiny window from midnight to four where the sun takes a break and allows you to go to bed. Most people in Alaska get blackout shades to help themselves go to bed while the sun is still out. That sounds like good news to me because I love having a little time in the daylight. When you spend all day indoors working, you often do not get free time until it is dark out. That is a depressing feeling.
Just because there is more light does not mean that you have more time in the day. You still have to get your eight hours of sleep every night if you want to be properly rested.
