I am excited at the chance to meet and work with you! I have a strong educational background, having received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Berkeley in Political Science in 2004, and a Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School in 2008. I hope to apply to a PhD program in animal cognition in the near future. I also love learning languages. I currently live in West Virginia, but I travel regularly and can incorporate many stories from my adventures into our tutoring sessions. I have been tutoring since I was 13 years old. At first, I taught bar mitzvah students. In college, I taught elementary and high school subjects, including English and high school mathematics, going all the way up to Calculus. After college, I completed a Teach for America summer training program in pedagogical methods, which included actual teaching experience. Through all this experience, I have learned a great deal about how students think and what motivates them to learn. My passion for learning is infectious, and I can't wait to share it with you. My favorite subjects to tutor are writing and English, but I also love math and social studies. Aside from academics, I am also interested in Harry Potter, Disney, Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and musicals, and I can incorporate any of this into our lesson plans if interested. I consider myself an expert on virtually anything pertaining to Disneyland (although this has not been independently verified).
