A 13-year mathematics teacher with a contagious enthusiasm for the subject I teach and a vast handle on how to teach mathematics in grade K-10 would like to help you help your child get back on grade-level or to support them during this rough patch in which they find themselves. I tutor for understanding, my goal is never to just do homework help with a student. Many teachers you will find are really great teachers. The problem is that many students have either misconceptions about the mathematics or they have gaps that need to be filled in order to solidify their foundation so they can now soar with their regular teacher. My goal is to figure out what those misconceptions may be, in your child, or to fill gaps that they are missing. I do this with a fun and easy approach yet I have very high expectations. The student is the active learner and I simply facilitate the learning. There is a lot of discussion about the math, in my tutoring sessions, as this is the only way to get to the root of the problem. I usually get to the root of the problem in more than 95% of the students I have had the pleasure to work with over the years. I'd love to help your family out.
