I graduated from Moscow Institute of Physics & Technology in 1968. I have Ph.D. (1971) and advanced doctoral degree (1987) in plasma physics from Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics (Novosibirsk, Russia). During my Novosibirsk period I gained a lot of teaching experience by lecturing different undergraduate and graduate physics courses in the Novosibirsk State University. From 2000 until 2017 I have been associated with the University of Wisconsin-Madison Physics Department (plasma physics group). During this time I co--advised many graduate physics students and postdocs. Last 1+ year I am tutoring physics and mathematics within the scope of the UW-Madison Athletics Department Learning Center Program. My favorite and most strong capability is to help students in making a bridge between physical situation described in worksheet or homework problems and mathematical formulation needed for its solution.
