In 2016, I graduated from the College of New Jersey with a Master's Degree in English Literature (GPA: 3.75).
In 2017, I started working as a teacher for an after-school program, teaching kids computer programming. The company was called CodingWithKids.
In 2018, I started tutoring in various areas, especially reading comprehension, essay composition, vocabulary, grammar, writing, and proofreading. I tutored students who were preparing for their SATs and the ACTs. I also taught ESL, Romanian, Chess, and Statistics (through SurveyMonkey).
I was also hired to edit a Ph.D. student's dissertation, and a novel prior to its publication.
My students had different skill levels. Some needed a lot of help, while others were already A/B+ students taking AP courses, who needed help in order to maintain a 4.0 GPA. While I worked primarily with students in elementary school and high school, I taught students of almost any age. My youngest student was five years old and my oldest student was in her 40s working on her Ph.D.
My job as editor included much more than proofreading. I looked at sentence construction, transition sentences, the flow of the story, and the plot structure.
I will include here my other skills and awards:
I have a TESOL/TESL/TEFL Certification from Oxford Seminars, which means that I am a certified ESL teacher.
I presented my paper at two literary conferences, and I planned to attend more before ending up in isolation due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
At my first conference, I presented a paper describing Schiller's play drive and its impact on his novel-in-verse, "The Robbers."
At my second conference, I presented an essay depicting Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" from an Aristotelian perspective.
In 1999, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rider University with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems. Since or during, I have attended six different colleges and Universities, including studying abroad at the University of Wollongong in Australia (while a student at Rider University).
Between 1999 and 2016, I took several courses in literature, writing, and philosophy at North Virginia Community College (GPA: 4.0), Mercer County Community College (GPA: 4.0), and George Mason University (GPA: 3.5).
I am the editor of a published collection of short stories called “Alpha Tales” by Lucian Hontau. It is currently published and available for purchase on Amazon for the Kindle. You can find my name under "editor."
I love to write, and I am currently working on two different novels. The first is a memoir. My second novel is a sociological approach to education and aesthetics.
I was on the Chess team in college, and for a while, I also taught chess.
I was also part of Phi Beta Kappa and various other organizations for honor students.
Going back as far as 1998 and 1999, I was a tutor of statics and financial accounting at Rider University.
My GRE writing score fell in the top 98%.
