Success in the IT World is about learning new things! My philosophy is to learn something new every day to end up more knowledgeable than the day before, but also share that thirst for information with others.
I have extensive educational and practical experience in the Computer Science/Information Technology fields. I currently hold a Master of Education - Instructional Technology, Bachelor of Science -Information Technology, and two Associate’s Degrees - Liberal Arts and Administration of Justice. Some of my industry certifications include, but not limited to, CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
My military background laid a solid foundation for tutoring, although they call it on-the-job training or mentoring. I adapt my style of tutoring to the needs of the student including combination of discussions, audio/video, or graphs based on material being covered. My desire is to help and pass along my knowledge to others for the past 21 years.
The last 2 decades of learning new things has given me an in-depth understanding into the multifaceted world of computers, both professionally as well as personally. I have developed complex forms in Excel and PowerPoint to configuring satellite communications and engineered systems/network design projects. Unix and Linux, Microsoft products suite, Cisco Unified Call Manager and video teleconferencing equipment, VMWare, and network hardware add to my area of expertise. If you require tutoring in determined project road-maps; developed requirements and authored detailed plans/designs, I have done that too.
